COSMO COSMOLINO

COSMO COSMOLINO @
The Salon, MELBOURNE RECITAL CENTRE

Wednesday 2nd September, 6pm

Dear Cosmo Friends,
We are delving into the sounds of the Mediterranean at the Melbourne Recital Centre’s acoustic heaven that is the Salon with a selection of vocal and instrumental works from Ravel, Manuel de Falla,  folk music from Greece and Israel and some of our favourite original compositions.

This will be the last concert for Cosmo Cosmolino as we take a break from after 20 years performing together.   For our final concert we are joined by two very special guests, Hope Csutoros (also our original violinist) and Jo To from the Stiletto Sisters!

Book via the Recital Centre:

Thanks so much for your support and hope to see you at this special concert as we celebrate the end of an era!!

Silhouettes, inside outside

Silhouettes, inside outside FLYERSilhouettes, inside outside brings together classical musicians, visual artists, silhouettes, shadow art, the audience and the space within and without a giant three-sided canvas. You can listen, you can watch, or you can grab a brush and make your mark on the canvas.

Following on from the success of Paint What You Hear, Artistic Director Erica Rasmussen has created Silhouettes, inside outside to encourage adults and young people to engage with music and visual art in an innovative and interactive way. Joining her on this project are some of Melbourne’s best contemporary classical musicians, violinist Andrea Keeble (Ad Hoc Music Collective), flautist Elisse Kleiner and sound artist Nat Grant, visual artists Sam Haycroft (Afterwhite) and Natalya Garden-Thompson, and lighting artist Annabel Warmington (La Mama Theatre). Silhouettes of the musicians will be created as they perform and the artists will capture their outlines. As the musicians take shape on the canvas, the audience will be invited to add colour to the silhouettes in response to the music. The performance will also feature a new piece by Nat Grant.

All inclusive matinée performance on Saturday 1st November at 4.30pm – feel free to bring the kids! Bring an old shirt to catch any pesky paint drops when you join in the fun.
