The ‘Congratulations‘ Single launch Concert will feature the Ad Hoc Music Collective performing the title track of the album by Andrea Keeble to be released in Dec 2017. ‘Suite Actuality’: 7 movements for string 4tet, voice and visuals by Dotahn Caspi will also be performed giving the audience a sneak preview of a number of the tracks to be released on the new “Congratulations” album – new, contemporary Eclectica.

The ‘Congratulations‘ Single is a beautifully composed song, with gorgeous, fluid vocals by Dan Witton.  Far from being prosaic, the song plays on the courage in breaking down old habits as it moves from cabaret to gypsy folk to classical and back again creating an impression of positive change.

Bayside Chamber Orchestra performs “The Crossing” by Keeble

Bayside Chamber Orchestra’s first concert for the year is on Sunday 20 March at 6.00pm at St Leonards Church 2 Wolseley Grove Brighton.
The delightful and varied program features Will Hardy playing Vivaldi’s Recorder Concerto in C, the gorgeous Ravel Pavane pour une infante defunte, a piece for winds by French composer D’Indy and a new work – The Crossing – by local composer and violinist Andrea Keeble.
Tickets are $20 and $15 concession available through Trybooking or at the door. Refreshments are included.
A little bit of background on “The Crossing” (yes, it is the same piece that opens the “Teeter” CD) – It was originally written for orchestra about 10 years ago and in the meantime it has been performed many times as a String Quartet.  So it has been great to arrange it for the wonderful Bayside Chamber Orchestra and to hear it as it was intended.  Hmm, some things take a long time.. Or 10 years isn’t really that long, depends on how you look at it! 🙂  Anyway, I hope you can come along and hear it!  A very special concert.

100 MUSICIANS PERFORMING DUETS
ACROSS 25 CONCERTS
ALL CONNECTED BY 1 PERSON

2 – 30 NOVEMBER 2015
AT CONNDUIT ARTS
83 BRUNSWICK ST, FITZROY

Melbourne’s live music scene is one of the best in the world. One reason for the strength of musical expression to emerge from Melbourne comes from the diversity and flexibility of its musicians to work across different scenes. One musician who exemplifies this is woodwind multi-instrumentalist Adam Simmons. During November 2015, Adam will perform 25 concerts with four duets per night with 100 different musicians from rock/pop, jazz, experimental, world, folk, blues, classical, electronica and more.
In addition, Adam will be joined by sound engineer Myles Mumford and Associate Professor John Fitzgerald in creating an installation during the month, illustrating the ways in which the various artists all connect. Myles will be  recordings all performances and these will be made available online. This is the beginning of a larger research project for University of Melbourne to create a Melbourne Music Map.
