The melody of Pi Quartet was originally composed by Andrea for ‘Pi Sycophantic’, a piece for rock band, Stroll, that was awarded an honourable mention in the International Song-writing Competition, USA in 2005.
Pi Quartet, composed for Keeble Collective formerly Ad Hoc Collective) in 2016, relies on the lively and somewhat quirky melody, driven by an accompanying fast waltz groove, and peppered with gypsy and rock musical nuances, and chromaticism to give it a unique sound.
