Grace – Score and parts

This piece was originally composed as the third movement of a bigger work called ‘Evolution’s Disgrace’ by Stroll (violin and rock band). Andrea renamed it ‘Grace’ as a stand-alone piece for string quartet in 2011 .

The initial musical idea for this quartet was conceived at Port Elliot, SA, where Andrea and her family (for generations) have spent many summers. The minimalistic arpeggiated viola part provides the consistent drive as the foundation to the soaring, somewhat romantic melodic lines that build towards the final lamenting climax.
