Emma’s Quartet – Score and parts

‘Emma’s Quartet’ is a string quartet arrangement of the solo violin piece ‘Emma’s Song’ featured on my first album ‘Teeter’ released in 2011. This arrangement was created especially for Resonance String Orchestra in 2018.

The gentle waltz style of the outer sections feature a lamenting f olk like melody accompanied by a simple rhythmic interplay. The middle section has a minimalistic f eel with a driving 5/8 ostinato articulated by subtle timbral contrasts.

<NB The Violin 3 part is the same as the Viola part. It has been included for when a viola player is not available and for when more violas are needed to balance the section size in a String Orchestra.
