This acclaimed journey of musical gothicism will be presented at Riverside Parramatta Friday Nov 9 and at the Melbourne Arts Centre, Sunday Nov 25.
Gothic is a concert of European, Australian and American gothic song, from medieval to contemporary times. Blending contemporary classical, folk and post-punk music styles, inventive covers of The Cure’s ‘A Forest’, Schubert’s ‘Erlkonig’, Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’, Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ list alongside new songs composed by Andrée to lyrics by Hilary Bell, Alison Croggon, Maryanne Lynch, Hugo Race and Felicity Plunkett.
Performed by singer Jessica O’Donohue (Rape of Lucretia, Dark MOFO), David Trumpmanis on guitar, and Melbourne-based string quartet Ad Hoc Collective (Andrea Keeble, Kylie Morrigan, Josh Stilwell and Noella Yan).
